My name is Kylie Lepri and I am a registered Individual and Couples Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Training Consultant.
I have been working in counselling and psychotherapy services for over 17 years and have extensive experience, training, and qualifications in many health and well-being areas with a special interest in anxiety, worry, and stress.
I regularly provide counselling and support for both individuals and couples with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, parenting, and relationship issues, as well as offer clinical supervision to students and established therapists in my private practice.
In addition to my private practice, I provide Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) counselling and support, consultancy, and training in a variety of large private and public organisations.
Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my beautiful family; my husband, two kids, and all of my crazy extended family (just kidding, they are great)!
I also enjoy walking, going to the movies, travelling, and spending time with friends.
My interest in the field started as a young adult when I experienced my own challenges with panic attacks and anxiety. Through my own personal journey and success, I realised the importance of good professional support and went on to train as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
My professional training began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and Human Change at the Jansen Newman Institute in Sydney. It opened my mind and increased my passion towards understanding how we think, what we feel, and why we behave the way we do.
Since then, I have had the privilege of assisting many people experiencing difficult times.
After graduation, I was involved in facilitating various groups (men’s’ groups in particular) around alcohol, substance abuse, anger, and mental health. Working with men really increased my awareness and appreciation around the struggles they have in meeting life’s demands and in navigating their way around emotions; an area they aren’t usually taught to manage or understand well.
My clients continue to inspire me as I watch them change and grow throughout the process and they begin to heal and smile again. The counselling process is what makes this possible.
Based on your unique needs, I will provide a practical and supportive approach to explore emotional stressors, thoughts, and behavioural patterns, which might feel unmanageable at present.
We will work towards building a happier and more rewarding life balance by carefully and attentively listening to your concerns, enhancing your personal awareness, and increasing coping strategies. I am professionally trained in many different styles of therapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which allow me to develop a very individualised approach that is best suited to you and your needs.
I am very interested in the mind and body connection, and will often incorporate and/or teach relaxation and mindfulness techniques throughout the counselling process.
In order to provide you with the most prevalent knowledge and counselling experience possible, I am also very committed to my own ongoing personal and professional development. This includes regular training, research, and clinical supervision.
My services are provided in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment; without any judgement.
